Be prepared
I saw a video of a priest who said satan wasn’t fighting against Muhammed. He wasn’t fighting against Buddha, and even less against Krishna. He was only fighting against Jesus. Why? Because Jesus is the only One who conquered him!
You see, the only problem satan has is Jesus Christ. Jesus conquered him and, therefore, he cannot win against Jesus. And that is why he will instead launch attacks on Jesus’ children.
So, wherever Jesus’ children are, the devil will persecute us and try to make it hell on earth for us. Because when he persecutes us, Jesus feels the pain when we are lured away in the wrong direction.
This is a reality that we must be prepared for. It’s war.
When I was in the army, we received very good training. They drilled us (literally) to understand exactly how our guns work. We could take it apart and put it back together in minutes.
We were taught about plans of attack and how to look out for our mates. We were ready for the enemy at any time of the day or night. But we were more ready for them than expected.
From the first training day, we received new information about the enemy daily. We knew what they looked like and what weapons and guns they used. We even knew what their plans of attack were.
Knowing your enemy thoroughly allows you to plan your defence accordingly. This also applies to satan. Yes, he was defeated on the cross. Jesus broke his neck, but he wreaks havoc with his last convulsions here on earth.
False teachers are one of satan’s weapons of attack. He forces himself into smart people’s heads and makes them believe things about God that aren’t true. Preachers often present these opinions as truth, and people follow these wrong preachers like slaves without investigating if it’s true.
1But there were also lying prophets among the people then, just as there will be lying religious teachers among you. They’ll smuggle in destructive divisions, pitting you against each other—biting the hand of the One who gave them a chance to have their lives back!
So be warned. Don’t be caught off guard. Don’t say you didn’t know. Satan walks around like a roaring lion looking for places where he can trip you up. This will usually be in the areas where you are weakest.
Don’t take everything at face value. Be sober and ask questions. Learn from the wisdom of those you respect. Fortunately, you don’t have to stand up against Satan and his minions alone. Jesus has already conquered him, and the Holy Spirit will give him another good beating when necessary.

2 Peter 2:1-9
Reflection
Where is the devil trying to trip you up?
How must you prepare for his attacks?
Do you have to get help to remain standing?
Prayer
Father, I know from experience that the devil is a reality. He tries his best to trip me up. Give me the strength to walk out victorious every time with the Holy Spirit. Amen.
