God's word in today's world

God = power

Life is not easy.

We all know that.

We all have personal experience of that.

Without the power and help of our Father and our Saviour Jesus Christ we have little hope.

18… May what our Master Jesus Christ gives freely be deeply and personally yours, my friends. Oh, yes!

Mrs W shared a bit about her life:

Hurt, pain and trauma are part of our lives.

‎We as believers know: Suffering leads to perseverance.

In 2002 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. By God’s immense grace I did not need to have a mastectomy. Only the glands were removed.  Radiation followed.

While still busy with the radiation I had to go for another treatment. The woman giving me the radiation called the oncologist, and immediately I had to be hospitalised with a chest infection. My radiation treatment had to be suspended. That was in 2003 (remember that year, I mention it for a reason).

In that same year fluid had to be removed from my pericardium. I had to be hospitalised for three weeks. I suffered a setback. I had two epileptic fits.

Seven weeks after the fluid had been removed from my pericardium my husband was in an accident when his bakkie crashed into a tanker on the way home from work. He died.

Four years after my husband’s death, our daughter committed suicide. She could not deal with her dad’s tragic accident.

After my breast cancer I was also diagnosed with other diseases, including Parkinson, depression, anxiety disorder, etc.

Because of my circumstances I had to move into an old-age home earlier than planned.

About six years ago I had a chemical reaction in my brain because of medication.

I have always believed. Since the chemical reaction in my brain, I have had a wonderful relationship with Jesus. He is my whole life.

I learnt that nothing is impossible for God. No storm is too big for Him. He can and wants to deal with all the storms in our lives. That is why He sent Jesus to earth to make everything new and to heal the hurt and pain in the lives of our loved ones.

The chest infection in 2003 had meant that I could not receive the last three radiation treatments. But today, nearly 12 years later, I’m still clean. After all this I realise that God is so much stronger than satan. This perishable body belongs to the Lord. If it is not according to the Lord’s plan and within his will, the Lord will protect us unconditionally. I’ve learnt that we can trust in Him unconditionally. With Him nothing is impossible.

I had to share the good news with you. There is always hope in trauma. But we as humans must make the mind shift. The Lord always gives you a choice.

Today I’m happy and healthy. After the chemical reaction in my brain I realised: The Lord can and wants to change me and He wants to walk the road with me.

Hallelujah! God is King.

Mrs W went through so many things in her life and still she praises. I’m speechless. And then I realise this is not human. This is the power of God. It is the power of God that carries Mrs W.

That is why I pray with Paul for you: 18… May what our Master Jesus Christ gives freely be deeply and personally yours, my friends. Oh, yes!

Galatians 6:11-18

Reflection

Do you experience the power of God in your life?

If not, how do you think you can get it?

Prayer

Lord, I really want to experience your power the way Mrs W does. Make me desperate enough to never stop longing for that power. Amen
