A grateful life for God
My phone started pinging from early morning. It was the spinning class congratulating one of the instructors. He was also responsible for adapting the productions uploaded fresh to the app every day. I know how much work that involves, so he really deserves all the praise coming his way.
It’s so nice when your selfless acts are acknowledged. It’s nice to be acknowledged for doing something for someone else, even if you don’t do it for recognition.
It’s just sad that we’ve become so used to not giving others the recognition they deserve. I don’t know if it’s just laziness or if we’re just forgetful, but we struggle with complimenting others. I know my compliments are rather reserved.
Unfortunately, we not only act this way to other people, but also to God. Our God who puts breath inside us. Our God who blesses us with grace. Our God who never stop showering us with His love. He who is the beginning and the end of everything. Even towards Him we are reserved with our gratitude and saying thank you.
That is wrong. We should overflow with thanking Him and our mouths and bodies should witness our gratitude to Him every moment of the day. We must look around us and again see everything He has made.
How, when we see His wonderful creations, when we realise how awesome He is, when we look at our bodies and see the wonder in each cell, can you do anything but burst out in worship and praise and saying thank you all the time.
15Let’s take our place outside with Jesus, no longer pouring out the sacrificial blood of animals but pouring out sacrificial praises from our lips to God in Jesus’ name.
In a way, our walk through life, the way we act, the way we live with and talk to other people should praise God. The way we live life must tell a story of gratitude to and admiration of God. He deserves it over and over again.
The word that comes to me is ‘adoration’. But first I have to google its meaning. That one word encapsulates all the following: love, devotion, care, warmth, fondness, admiration, worship, exalt, praise, revere, venerate and many more.
All these words must become a reality in our lives as part of our praise of our beloved Father God. These words must flow from our mouths, and also become visible in whatever we do here on earth.
May the world see every day what impact God has in our lives. May it ignite them and may they also have a desire to invite the living God into their lives and also live in such a way as for Him in the world.

Reflection
Can people hear your gratefulness towards God?
Can people see your gratefulness towards God?
What change do you need to make in your life?
Prayer
Jesus and God, thank you so much for everything You do in my life. I am nothing without You. You give me life. You give me the breath and strength to push through life every day. You are the Creator God, who makes absolutely everything on earth possible. All glory to You, now and in all eternity. Amen.
