God's word in today's world

Believe for another chance

Many people are struggling. Many businesses are going under and people lose their jobs. People have no income. They have no food. It feels as if the stress is gnawing at you from the inside. Not only financial stress, but stress in relationships and so on as well.

What do you do then?

At times like these the only thing you can do is to hold onto your faith. We must believe that God will provide. We must believe that He will help us. We must believe that He will fight the battle with us and save us.

Like He saved the people in the Old Testament time after time.

34They were protected from lions, fires, and sword thrusts, turned disadvantage to advantage, won battles, routed alien armies.

Why? Because they believed that God would help them with the challenges they faced.

We all have to face challenges in life. At one time or another life doesn’t go as we thought it would, and our lives change in an instant. Like Hein’s did:

God never said it would be easy, but in His time, He will make things work out for the best for those who believe.

I can testify that the Lord has given me a second chance. In September 2008, I was on my way home on my motorbike. Not riding too fast. Not riding recklessly. I stayed 2 km from my workplace.

On my way I was hit by a drunk driver. My knee was smashed and, therefore, my right leg had to be amputated above the knee.

The Lord made it into something good, because I’m still alive!

I lost almost all my blood and in medical terms had an HB count of 2. A normal count if you have all your blood is between 9 and 12. But I survived. Obviously, I wasn’t in a good space, but the Lord ensured that I still had a job and that I recovered completely.

I trusted in Him, like it says in Psalm 91, and He did not let me down. I believe and trust our dear Lord’s will is always good.

Everything isn’t always hunky dory for Hein. At times, he struggles a lot. At times, his relationships take a dip, but he keeps believing and trusting that God will make things work out for him and give him another chance. God did not only help the guys in the Old Testament, He still helps now, here, today. He will help you too! Just believe it.

Scripture
Hebrews 11:32-38

Do you believe that God is still involved with people today?
Do you believe that God gives people more chances?
Do you believe that God will help you?
