Do you witness about Jesus
Is Jesus really the Son of God?
It’s not up to us to answer this question, because there are three witnesses who themselves confirm that Jesus is indeed the Son of God.
7-8And all the while the Spirit is confirming the truth, the reality of God’s presence at Jesus’ baptism and crucifixion, bringing those occasions alive for us. A triple testimony: the Spirit, the Baptism, the Crucifixion. And the three in perfect agreement.
The Holy Spirit was present when Jesus was baptised. Do you remember that the Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove? Jesus himself said that the Holy Spirit was upon Him. Every miracle that Jesus did, the Holy Spirit saw. He was there as an eyewitness.
Remember, Jesus promised the disciples that He would send His Spirit when He was no longer on earth. This Spirit saw the Messiah ascend to heaven, just as He also saw Him descend.
And today the Spirit of God lives in us. He still testifies of Jesus throughout. In fact, you would not know about Jesus if it were not for the Holy Spirit living in you. It is only through the working of the Spirit that we can know Jesus.
Water also plays an important role in Jesus’ life. It was precisely when He was baptised with water that He began His special, divine ministry. An event that testifies of who Jesus really is.
The baptism of Jesus wasn’t just some ordinary event; it was a supernatural moment. When the Holy Spirit came down, it made it clear that Jesus wasn’t just any guy, He was divine. This huge event highlighted His special job: to fix the broken relationship between God and us.
And Jesus did this on the cross. What greater proof is there that Jesus is the Son of God? On the cross, His blood flowed from His hands and feet, as evidence that He had died.
The earth also testified. The sun darkened, and a great earthquake tore the curtain in the temple in two. Could an ordinary person have accomplished such a thing?
Certainly not.
Even though the Scripture does not mention it directly, the open tomb was also a sign that Jesus is more than just human. He is truly the Saviour. Yes, even the stones cried out, just as the Bible predicted.
Jesus is the Son of God. There is a lot of evidence of this.
And the testimony continues in people here on earth. I look at my friend and I see how Jesus’ love drives him to always want to do good. He can’t help it.
I see people giving up everything and going to remote places to help those who have nothing. I see business people who believe in Jesus and just give and give and give. I see ordinary people who always make time, who always listen, who always want to help, because they met Jesus and want to do just as He did.
And now, as usual, we need to look at ourselves. Do you and I witness that Jesus is God’s Son and our Saviour?
Don’t answer too quickly. First, take an honest look at your life. And maybe ask someone else what they see in your way of life.

Reflection
In what different ways can you witness about Jesus?
Which way suits you best?
How can you live it?
