If Jesus had not come to earth, we would’ve been in deep trouble. We would’ve been wandering around in the dark not having a clue about what was going on. 

Jesus became human to be the Light in our dark world. He came to tell us about God and about God’s great love for us. He came to show us a piece of God, even though even the piece of God is too much for our human minds to really grasp His greatness. 

Yet the little that Jesus came to show us people of God is enough for us to get off our wrong ways and follow Jesus and God instead. 

Just the fact that God was willing to let His own Son die in our place, so that we don’t have to pay for messing up, opens the door of God’s heart and we can see His love beating for us. 

Jesus also came to open His heart for us to show us how His love pumps for us. That is why He was also willing and agreed to lay down His life for a bunch of sinners like us. 

However, Jesus is life. He is the One who gives life to people. If we believe in Him and accept Him as our Savior, we also become part of the group of people who will live forever. 

Jesus gave His life for us, as it were, and when we receive Jesus’ life, we receive the great prize and live with Him forever. We start living life now and it just goes on, even if our earthly bodies remain on earth one day. 

1-2The Word of Life appeared right before our eyes; we saw it happen! And now we’re telling you in most sober prose that what we witnessed was, incredibly, this: The infinite Life of God himself took shape before us. 

Okay, so we have Eternal Life. Our road to heaven is paved and we can rest assured that death with its dirty hands can do nothing to us. The only question is whether other people around us can see it? 

Do we live today, in the midst of the dead world, as one who has Life? Do we live so that the world can see we’re not afraid of death? Do we really look forward to walking through the gates of heaven one day? 

Sometimes we struggle to live life because we’re fixed in the world too much. We allow the worries and even worldly dreams to break our speed and even determine our direction. 

We should rather change our goalposts. Our must focus on Life. We must live our life here on earth with our eyes fixed on Eternal Life. Then we will live differently. Then the challenges of life will not determine the weather over our head. Then we’ll be able to have joy and peace, even though fires burn around us. Even if life throws one fire after another over us, we will remain standing, we will remain alive, because Life, Jesus, shared it with each of us.

How, as a saved person, do you live differently in the world?
Can people see that you have Life?
Do others then also want to live forever? 

Prayer
Jesus, thank you for making it possible for me to live forever. Let me focus on that and not the world. Let me help others focus differently. Amen.
