God has a plan
Genesis 41:56-57 As the famine got worse all over the country, Joseph opened the storehouses and sold emergency supplies to the Egyptians. The famine was very bad. Soon the whole world was coming to buy supplies from Joseph. The famine was bad all over.
The path of those who walk closely with God is paved with intentional grace. Such a person is faithful to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and in the end, everything works out. Beautiful stories are written.
It’s not always an easy path, but you eventually reach the place where God wants you to be. And in the process, you have a huge impact on other people’s lives, and you really make a difference. Then your life becomes meaningful.
Joseph’s path was rarely smooth. He was almost killed by his brothers, whose primary objective was to remove him from their lives entirely. He was thrown into a pit and eventually sold to a trader. Then he was sold as a slave in a foreign country.
Through it all, God was with him. God protected him so that, for example, he was not killed by his brothers. God was still with him when he, an innocent man, was thrown into prison.
If you look back on Joseph’s life, you see that God worked with a long-term plan. No matter what worldly things and decisions showed up in his life, God made sure that Joseph would realise His plan.
God planned that Joseph would lead the way in saving the people of his time. There was a great famine, and many people would have died, because no one thought to put food aside for the lean years.
God always works with a long-term plan for everyone, for all His children, for you and me. Yes, we’ve taken wrong turns and made some poor choices, and yet God works it out in such a way that we get to where He wants to use us.
Yes, God wants to use you. He has a big plan for you, and that includes making a difference in people’s lives. Just believe it and live it. The world can be different because you are in it!
Prayer
Lord God, sometimes I feel so useless and like I don’t mean much. I now believe that You want to use me. Here I am. Use me …
Questions
Can I see God’s hand when I look back on my life?
Do I believe that God can use even my wrong turns in His plan?
Where can God use me today to make a difference?
Do this now
Take ten minutes today and think back on three things God has helped you with in the past.
Write them down and thank Him for them.
Ask God to show you today where He can use you to help someone else.
