God’s plans work
My friend’s father’s farmed in the Northern Cape – where the nothing grows about a meter high. How they managed to tend sheep there, only they will know. He’s the one who always said: One should never run out of plans.
I suspect that was His secret. He always had a bunch of plans to make things work. Even though there weren’t always enough ingredients for the plan, they made it work.
God never stopped making plans, either. God had a plan to create humans. A beautiful creation. He saw the picture, but first, He planned to make an overflowing with milk and honey home for the humans.
His plans came to life, and the earth came into being. The sea lay as calm as a dam. God made a plan with the emptiness and covered the earth with fields, woods and trees where the newly created bugs and animals could play around.
After that, God’s master plan kicked into action, and humans came to live on earth. Amongst the animals, woods and trees, humans lived in peace with creation – a perfect plan from a perfect Planner.
It’s a pity that the humans made other plans and drew a line through this plan of God. How disappointed God must’ve been! How bad must it have been for Him when humans chose against Him?
It must’ve been awful for God when His beloved creatures made all the wrong choices. Choices that caused them not to be able to enter eternal life with Him.
God’s love drove Him, and He couldn’t stop himself from thinking of a new plan. A plan that would save mankind forever from the punishment for their sins. The master plan was to send Jesus to earth so that He would pay the price for the punishment humans had accumulated for their sins.
Thank you for this! Thank goodness God has made a plan again after man has messed up the previous one. Thank God that God’s goodness and love for humans are so great that we cannot break His speed.
3What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus!
God’s plan to make us His children became a reality on the cross, but Jesus first had to die on that cross. To make this plan work, God had to give His own Son to be killed so His death could guarantee us a new life.
I know the story. You probably too. The question surely is what impact this has on our walk through life. Can other people see the goodness of God in us? Does it attract them?
May we make plans today, tomorrow and the day after to live so that the goodness of our wonderful God, who made us His children, is visible to the world around us.

Reflection
Do you believe in God’s plans?
Do you believe that God made you His child?
Do others see it in you?
Prayer
Father, how great are You! How wonderful Your plans to choose me too. Let it become visible to everyone around me. Amen.
