God’s timing is always right. Things will happen at the right time. And yes, it doesn’t always feel like that. When we’re in deep trouble, we often can’t see any solution. We pray like mad, but it feels as if God doesn’t hear and we’re left with a heap of unanswered questions.

But I know God’s timing is always right. Like the time that Jesus’ message of redemption came into the world: ³And then when the time was ripe, He went public with his truth.

God always arrives in our lives at the right time too. Like Annatjie’s story:

A year ago, I lost my job and I thought it was God’s way of telling me, “Do your own thing, you’ve always wanted to”.  And I did, I started doing my own thing. It was a struggle and eventually all the extra money I found somewhere and what my mom gave me ran out.

By the end of July this year I had R200 (more or less) in the bank, my rent was three months behind, and the installment on my car too. I did Bible study every morning and eventually said to the Lord that I thought I had stopped believing, because nothing was going right. It wasn’t as if I was sitting on my backside waiting for the work to come running to me.

Last Wednesday we had good rains here in Piketberg and I was doing the work I had to do (my business was doing essential admin work for small and microbusinesses). I still had work, but not everybody could pay (my intention was to help even if no one could pay).

Then my telephone rang and two farmers on the mountain asked me to come and see them. I’ve submitted three quotes to these guys already and had thought that I would never get to work for them.

I drove out to see them and the end result was that I had to start working for both of them that Monday. The result was approximately 30 hours of work per week for these two farmers. They didn’t even question my tariff or anything else.

These contracts now mean that I will have enough money to meet all my obligations and leaves me with enough time to help my other clients as well as those who cannot pay.

Just when I thought I was alone, that the Lord was not going to help me the way I wanted to be helped, and that I had misunderstood God again. Because, really, if a person can misunderstand it’s me!

An ordinary story and all too familiar to people in the business world. But I don’t know how God does it, He always comes through at the perfect, right time. He helped Annatjie with the two contracts at exactly the right time.

God will show up for each of us at the right time. It may not be exactly what we asked for, but God will show up with the best plan for us.
