God's word in today's world

Have faith in God and His plans for you

Moses met God in the burning bush. God called him to free His people from slavery. Moses didn’t think he would be able to do it and had a few excuses for getting out of this job.

“You know, Lord, I have this little problem. I stutter and I suspect you need a good negotiator for this difficult job. I grew up in the palace. I know the pharaoh. He won’t let the Israelites go without a fight!”

But when his staff changed into a snake, he knew there was no turning back and he tackled his calling with loads of faith.

As Moses predicted, the pharaoh was tough. Even the plagues didn’t make him change his mind. But with his stutter and together with God, Moses didn’t stop trying to convince the pharaoh to change his mind.

You see, when you have met the living God, it’s no use trying to resist. Your faith in God and that His will eventually will prevail, makes you keep going and holding on and trying again.

Even when Moses found out that all the firstborn sons would die a certain night, he did not falter. He didn’t wonder whether it was true or whether it was fake news.

28By an act of faith, he kept the Passover Feast and sprinkled Passover blood on each house so that the destroyer of the firstborn wouldn’t touch them.

Remember, there was no similar story in the past that he could use as an example. There was no manual that he could read to see what to do. All he had was his faith in God. Faith in God who had called him. Faith in the calling that God had determined for him. He believed in the picture of God who wanted to save His people from slavery and did not allow any obstruction to stand in his way or steal his faith.

God has a picture for each of us. God has a specific plan for each of us here on earth. We’re not here by accident. Even before our parents even had an idea about us, God’s plans for us were in place.

Do you believe it? Is your faith strong enough to believe that the Heavenly Father has a plan for you the same way He had a plan for Moses? Do you believe in God, that God can still do miracles today? Do you believe that God can and wants to do it through you?

Eish, quite a few questions, but sometimes you have to shake the cage a bit. Sometimes you must step out of the race of life to see where you’re going and whether it is going the direction of God’s plan for your life.

Maybe you should start by affirming and underlining your faith in God and put your plans in His hands, asking Him to help you fulfill His plans in your life. You need a heap of faith for that. May the Spirit give it to you!

Scripture
Hebrews 11:20-31

Reflection
Do you believe in God?
Do you believe that God has a plan for your life?
How is that plan going?

Prayer
Father, I believe in You, otherwise I wouldn’t be talking to You right now. I believe You have a plan for every person on earth. But I’m not too sure about my plan. Please help me get to Your plan for my life so that I can carry it out. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
