If we want to save ourselves and the people close to us much suffering and pain, we should realise that our conscience has been hurt during the Fall and is pulling sideways. No, it seems to me as if the volume knob of our conscience has been turned down totally and we cannot hear so well.

Therefore we must turn the volume up by getting our noses in God’s Word. This will help our conscience to distinguish between right and wrong. Yes, sometimes the lines of right and wrong are so close together that we aren’t sure which one to choose. But the more we read God’s Word, the more right and wrong will pull apart and we will be able to make the correct decision more easily.

May we do our duty every day, may we make sure to have the latest version of our conscience, because then our conscience will drift easily through life.
