We all have a different picture of Jesus. For some, that picture is stuck on the baby in the manger in Bethlehem. Some see Jesus as the child playing at the entrance to the synagogue. Some see Jesus as He walked the dusty streets here on earth.

The way you see Jesus affects his impact on your life. If, for you, Jesus is nothing more than a baby in a manger, He won’t have much of an impact in your life. But if you see Jesus as the Messiah who came to earth to give humankind a glimpse of God’s heart, He cannot do otherwise but be your Saviour too.

Jesus fed a crowd of people. Jesus healed sick people miraculously, in an instant. He even had the power to resurrect people from death. When we believe in this Jesus, He has the power to make a huge impact in our lives.

Jesus’ time here on earth went even further than this. He died on a cross for our sin so that when we leave this earth and stand in line before heaven, we do not have to go through the admin of sin books and who has to pay for all of it.

Those standing in line cannot get into heaven, because they are unable to pay the entry fee. That’s why the gates of heaven will simply remain closed to them and they have to go and find another place to spend eternity.

The Jesus I believe in is more powerful than death itself, because death couldn’t overcome Him. Jesus and God broke the chains imprisoning the dead, so that He could rise after three days. Do you remember the empty grave?

Jesus did exactly what God asked Him to do. In every step, every action, every word, and in all thought, He was obedient to God’s command. Nowhere, absolutely nowhere did He deviate from the original instruction.

Even when it seemed to Him that the road to the cross was getting a bit too steep and He asked God to let this cup pass Him by, He still walked that tortuous road.

That’s my Jesus.

In every aspect, He deserves to now be the Source of eternal life: ^9-10Though he was God’s Son, he learned trusting-obedience by what he suffered, just as we do. Then, having arrived at the full stature of his maturity and having been announced by God as high priest in the order of Melchizedek, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who believingly obey him.

Anyone can enter through the door to eternal life, it is open. But there is one condition. You have to listen to Him. You must believe in Him. You must be obedient and listen to his Word.

Prayer
Dearest Jesus, how great You are. You came to earth to show us the way to God. But more than that, You died for my sin. I believe in You. I believe You are the Saviour God. I believe that one day I will enter the gates of heaven because You make it possible for me. I want to obey You all the way. Amen.
