Sacrifices that hurt
Willie describes how the Lord is working in his life:
Last night my wife was suffering from a terrible toothache. We couldn’t get to the dentist because the main road had a taxi blockade.
All I have to give God is love. So, I gave my humble praise to the Lord and acknowledged His goodness and power. I asked Jesus to plead my prayer before the Father using the right words so that God, the greatest Healer, relieved my wife from the toothache.
Ten minutes later, she said the toothache was gone.
I immediately prayed and thanked God and praised Him for the goodness He had shown my wife.
Later the toothache returned, but I had the right solution. Again, I prayed and pleaded with God and again, without hesitation, He reached out, and immediately her pain was gone.
We both are state pensioners and only have love to give. Jesus intercedes for us, and God responds immediately to help us.
My wife was worried because she didn’t know whether her faith was strong. I told her: “You know, we have nothing to give but faith and love. See how God healed you. This shows how much God loves us. He helps us. He is our only God and Heavenly Father.”
“We have nothing to give but faith and love.”
With everything he has, with hands filled with love and hands filled with faith as a sacrifice, Willie kneels humbly at his Creator’s feet. For his Creator, this is enough, more than enough. A sacrifice of love and faith.
What an example this is for us! Just like Abraham’s example: 21Wasn’t our ancestor Abraham “made right with God by works” when he placed his son Isaac on the sacrificial altar? Isn’t it obvious that faith and works are yoked partners, that faith expresses itself in works?
When you believe strongly, overflow with love and have a close relationship with your Creator, one response is to sacrifice.
Sacrifices take a lot from you. Sacrifices are often the last and all that you have. It often hurts a lot and may cut off parts of you. Yes, sometimes blood flows as you stand with the last you have in your hand to give away.
Faith can only overflow into sacrifices within an intimate relationship with God. That is why we have to work hard on our relationship with God. We must make sure that we also go to God with hands filled with love and faith, so that we can share sacrifices until it hurts.

Reflection
Does your faith lead to sacrifices?
What do you have to sacrifice?
Where do you have to go and sacrifice?
Prayer
Our Father, You are so good to us and I’m so grateful to have to do something as well. I know I must sacrifice more, but it’s hard, especially when it hurts. Help me live my faith so I won’t be afraid to give everything. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
