Sorry, I don’t know you
Some verses I don’t want to write about.
The first part of verse 12 gives us courage to pull through hard times: 12If we stick it out with him, we’ll rule with him …
You hold onto this with everything in you. When the suffering becomes too hard, you lift your head and look beyond the suffering to the end. It gives you strength to push forward.
Thank you!
But then comes the second part of the verse, and you don’t want to talk about this part. It’s so final. It’s like standing at the edge of the cliff, knowing that to step off will be the end.
Forever the end: 12… If we turn our backs on Him, He’ll turn his back on us ...
The loneliest loneliness must surely be when Jesus says to you: “I don’t know you. Sorry …”
What will go through your head if Jesus says that to you?
How will you feel if Jesus turns around and walks away from you?
Will you realise your mistake then?
Will you run to Jesus then?
Will you fall down before Jesus then?
And Jesus?
Will Jesus still open his arms to you then?
Sometimes, yes, sometimes, the question marks keep hanging in the air and there is no answer.
Scripture
2 Tim 2:8-13
Reflection
Will you then realise your mistake?
Will you then run to Jesus?
Will you then fall down before Jesus?

Lord! Have mercy on Your sinner! Amen.
