When I was a matric girl during 1969, Uncle Attie’s bedtime stories made a huge impact on my life. We lived in Windhoek. I collected tins of food and clothes and left it at poor people’s doors with the message: “With love, from Jesus”. I then knocked and ran away.

Uncle Attie taught me to be obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit in order to make a difference in other’s lives. During the early 1980’s the Holy Spirit put it in my heart to donate a certain amount of money to two missionaries. At first I protested and said to the Lord that this was all I had but I submitted and obediently gave them the money.

When I arrived, they just got off their knees. The amount I provided them was the exact amount that they prayed for. The Holy Spirit directed me a few times to take them food. Every time they just got from their knees and trusted that God will provide. Every time I was amazed by their faith. I also longed to share my tinned food with them even without knowing their need. About two months ago, a child of God prayed for finances and once again the Holy Spirit put it in my heart to help this person, although I didn’t know her at all.

I also sent an amount to somebody who went on an outreach to Kenia. I simply am a state pensioner and I can testify how abundantly God provides in your need in order for you to take care of other’s need when you allow Him to lead you. All gold and silver belongs to the Lord. All the glory and honour belongs to God because He fulfils His Word and if you are obedient and listen to His voice, He provides even till old age.

What a great privilege to be His child.
