Tell everyone about the big bargain
As soon as my wife finds a big bargain, she immediately comes and tells me how much money she has saved. I wonder if she’s ever paid the full price for any piece of clothing. But wait, let me find another example, I may be moving onto thin ice now!
But I’m actually the same. As soon as I find a camera or half a sheep, well, anything at a good price, I will share it with everybody. I want them to share in the bargain. And even if others cannot necessarily make use of my bargain too, I still have to tell as many as possible about it. Are you like that as well?
I’m sure you know what enormous bargain God gave each of us: eternal life. 2My aim is to raise hopes by pointing the way to life without end. This is the life God promised long ago—and he doesn’t break promises!
Today uncertainty so easily finds a place in our lives. We’re uncertain whether we’ll still have a job tomorrow. We’re uncertain whether we’ll have enough money at the end of the month. Some may be uncertain whether they’ll still have a house by the end of the month. Maybe there are people who’re uncertain about life, because so many curve balls have come their way lately that they’re afraid to even stick their heads out the front door.
Fortunately, here we get the message about one big piece of certainty coming our way: eternal life. Nothing and no one can take this awesome bargain away from us. It doesn’t matter what happens, I know the day I breathe my last breath, I am going to heaven. Nobody can take it away from me. It’s not a pipedream. It’s a reality that each of us can hold onto in an uncertain world. God gave it to me free. He took away my sin and carried the burden for me.
Sometimes this is the only certainty in my uncertain day. And this is still true today: 3And then when the time was ripe, he went public with his truth. I’ve been entrusted to proclaim this Message by order of our Savior, God himself.
The bargain of life, but I’m not telling everybody about it. Yes, I shout about the clothes and the car and the camera and the sheep, because I want others to share in these bargains, but the greatest luck that you can ever dream of, that you get free, we don’t say anything about that. The best kept secret ever!
I wonder why? Maybe because we don’t know exactly what it is going to be like and actually want to stay here on earth for as long as possible. However, that is no excuse. Yes, we’re only human and may not always be so excited about leaving everything behind and dying, but in the back of our minds we do know about this bargain. And it does bring peace and calm. But let’s not keep the best kept secret from our friends and families.
Let’s make a point of telling our family, friends, colleagues and the strangers we meet about the big bargain. I want to challenge you to send an email to a few people that can read as follows: Hi, have you heard about this unbelievable bargain? It’s free for all who believe! Heaven is open to all who believe in God. Even if not everything in your life is sorted at the moment, you can count on the life hereafter being sorted!
4… Receive everything God our Father and Jesus our Savior give you!
Reflection
Do you believe in the bargain of eternal life?
Do you believe you’re going to heaven?
Who do you have to tell about this bargain?

Prayer
Father, thank you sounds so insufficient. Thank you so much for the greatest bargain of my life. Thank you that eternal life was brought to me completely free by Jesus who died on the cross. Father, You are so good! Please help me blurt it out to everybody around me, so that no one can ever call out to me from hell one day: Why did you never tell me? Amen.
