I share any good offer I hear of to all my WhatsApp groups. A while ago I heard about good, proper Namibian hardwood. I must confess I believe this is the best wood for a braai.

I spread the word and the first load fills up quickly. Eventually, I’m forced to order a second load. I don’t realise it, but the price per bag for the second load is higher and I have to add a few Rands from my own pocket to make up the difference.

But even this pebble on the road doesn’t prevent me from sharing a good bargain with my friends. Something inside me wants other people to share in my good fortune.

In the same way, God cannot stop Himself from wanting as many people as possible to join him: ¹⁰… as he leads all these people to glory. That’s God’s plan. Like any mom or dad, He wants his children around Him. If they’re not with Him, He hurts.

With the total lockdown of our country due to the Corona virus, my two daughters were with their boyfriends. One was in Centurion and the other on a farm in the Free State. The whole time I felt as if something was missing. Something more even. As if a part of me was missing.

All the time I wanted to make plans to get them here. But there was nothing I could do. The Law stated that nobody could travel from point A to point B for 21 days.

In a way, God probably felt like this. All his children weren’t with Him and not even on their way to Him. Most weren’t even on the road to heaven. Maybe God felt as if there was nothing that He could do.

Fortunately, He is God and He could turn everything around. He could make a plan to give everybody on earth a chance to get to heaven. However, it was a very expensive plan. A plan that cost Jesus his life.

Fortunately, the plan worked. Jesus destroyed the power that sin had over humankind. God and Jesus are much stronger than the devil and he was conquered on Golgotha. Yes, he still tries his utmost to deceive people, therefore we should know that he is a super cheat and also a loser. He has lost the biggest fight. Jesus was the victor.

And the price? Mankind can now go to heaven for free. They don’t have to do anything to get the prize. The price (a tremendous price – Jesus’ life!) has been paid. The doors to heaven are wide open. The rust on the hinges have fixed them in place and they can never close again. Unending life waits for all who believe in Him.

That’s all you have to do. Believe in Him and confess your sin. God keeps his promises and will write of the debt for your mountain of sin.

Wow, what an unbelievable bargain! How can we keep silent about this? How can we not share this with our friends? Come on! Don’t keep it to yourself, tell everyone you meet.

It can save their lives …

Prayer
Father, thank you so much for this wonderful rescue plan! Thank you that we can share in this and that heaven has been opened for us. I know I have to share the message. Please give me the strength and open doors for me so that I can do it. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
