Truth brings peace
My swimming pool was leaking, and I was incredibly frustrated. Despite searching everywhere, I simply couldn’t find the source. So, I called a professional for help.
His men quickly found the hole and fixed it in no time. The bill was quite high, but I didn’t care because at least my water bill would be lower.
Well, my wife and I were both so excited that we both accidentally paid the bill. Luckily, we soon realised this and asked the professional man to please refund our money.
Unfortunately, his professionalism stopped when we made the double payment. He started telling long stories about when the money would be refunded. Then he got a new phone and lost all our details. We kept waiting for payment.
Eventually, he no longer answered my calls, and I had to use other people’s phones to get hold of him. His stories started to make no sense, and he painted himself into a corner every now and then.
A year later, I finally decided to surprise him at his factory. It was quite chaotic there with lots of noise and shouting. There was no sense of direction … like a dog chasing its own tail.
That’s the nature of falsehood: it kicks up so much dust that you lose all sense of direction. And when the dust finally settles, trouble is staring you in the face.
Truth works differently. 2… everyone who knows the Truth that has taken up permanent residence in us loves you.
It will always be this way. Truth does not kick up dust. Truth makes the ambiguity clear.
Inventing Anna is a Netflix series. Anna Sorokin was a Russian-born woman who posed as a German heiress, Anna Delvey. She flew high among the social elite.
She stole thousands of dollars from hotels, banks and even friends, by lying and deceiving people. However, in 2019, she was convicted and sentenced. All her lies brought her imprisonment.
Peace continues to elude people. Joy is short-lived, and they continue to stumble in the wrong direction.
It’s not always easy to stay in the truth, but it brings peace. I opened the garage door, and it accidentally scratched a client’s car. I decided not to tell him, because the car was already scratched.
But peace and joy kept eluding me until I put the truth on the table. He said it was actually his fault, because he had parked in the wrong place. Suddenly, I felt at peace again.
Always keep to the truth in all things.

Reflection
Do you always live in the truth?
Are there perhaps some grey areas?
How can you live in the truth in everything?
Prayer
Father, I want to live the truth in everything, but I slip up here and there. Help me to always live in the truth only. Amen.
