I enjoyed my days in the business world immensely and liked helping other people and their ministries. Not much has changed in the meantime. All of us have a responsibility to bless others and share our blessings. 

What did change for me was that we now depend on the blessing of others for our salary at the end of the month. Well, for more than just our salaries – also for all the other expenses to keep such a large ministry running. 

However, I soon realised that this is the way God provides. When He called us, we trusted that He would provide. And He provides every month, for which we are so grateful. 

He does it in different ways. I’ve already mentioned my friend in Gauteng who said that if he caught me there in a rented car, he would give me a hiding. So, one time he gave us a Mercedes ML 500. Wow, I felt like a king, and Renata just wanted to stand up and wave to everyone from the sunroof.  

When I called him to thank him, he asked me if the petrol card was in the vehicle. Can you believe it? A petrol card as well. I said yes. He then said I should take it to Cape Town and fill the Ford with diesel until the end of the year. 

He is a Toyota fan and always teases me about my bakkie. He then jokingly said, “It’s only for diesel and not to fill up the Ford’s oil.” 

The Lord practically provides for our needs through His children. My friend is a man of action, not words. His actions clearly demonstrate his beliefs. 

Someone once sent me this quote: “What you do, speaks so loudly, I can’t even hear what you say”. That’s quite true of my friend. He doesn’t need to talk; his actions say enough. 

18My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. 

What better example of this than my Toyota-driving friend? 

Then I wonder what others say about me. Can people also see through my actions that I am God’s child, or should I speak first or post nice spiritual things on my WhatsApp groups? 

Let’s look for ways to show our faith, to be God’s hands and feet by what we do. That place might be just around the corner. You just haven’t noticed it yet. 

There’s a reason why we’re often reminded of this, and it’s because we forget so easily. We grow so comfortable in our lives that we forget God wants to change the world, and He wants to use everyone—Toyota drivers, Ford drivers, and everyone else, whether they’re driving, sitting, or walking—to do it. Let’s make this a part of what we do because if we all manage to do it, the world will certainly look different!

Who should feel it? 

Prayer
Lord, I actually know this one and know all too well that others need to see my faith. I struggle quite a bit with that and that’s why I’m wondering if the Holy Spirit could help me with this. Amen.
