Heike tells this precious story:

I recycle my waste at home and conscientiously put it outside for collection every Wednesday. And every Wednesday it’s collected by a man who takes everything useful without having to scratch around too much.

At the same time, he empties my bins and leave them neatly in front of the garage so that I can take them inside again.

This morning when I went to get the bins, I had a lovely surprise: he had left a lovely note on my thanking me for my cooperation and sending me a blessing.

Look, it made my day to know that I can make a difference in someone’s life by such a small gesture and a friendly morning greeting.

Thank you, Father, that I can listen to your voice for guidance. Please keep me humble and conscientious.

The letter reads as follows:

Every Wednesday is my x-mass, because I get a lot from your bin, which I sell to get food.

When you wake early to put out your bin so that I can survive. It really means a lot to me.

Your great work will not only by remembered on earth but also rewarded in heaven.

Thank you again. Thank you really.

Wow, what a wonderful testimony. Just a small action but making such a huge impact in someone’s life.

Actually, this is exactly what we as children of God should be doing always. We must look for places where we can do good. We have to be the trustworthy and safe people when others are in need. People must know we are the action people. Others should know us as people who do more than what is expected of us.

Like the testimony of Philemon’s life: ²¹I know you well enough to know you will. You’ll probably go far beyond what I’ve written.

May this be true of my life. May this be true of your life. May others also say of us: “You really so different”.

Lord, You do so much for me. I’m so privileged to have a God like You. But I realise I don’t do enough. Not because I have to, but because I can’t NOT do it. Please help me to see where You want me to have an impact on someone else’s life. Amen.
