Your Motivator
Energy drinks aren’t for me. I believe my body already stores plenty of fuel for when I need an energy boost. Besides, I’m sceptical about the health benefits of all that sugar and caffeine.
My holiday turned into something like that movie, but only in reverse: two weddings, a funeral, and even a trauma case. And to top it off, I was staying in the Southern Cape and had to drive all the way to the Western Cape every single time.
During the last trip, all the driving started to wear me down. I began to feel like I’d bitten off more than I could chew, and fatigue, both mental and physical, really started to set in. I always say there’s no second wink when you’re tired, because you fall asleep after the first one.
I decided that a Red Bull should come to my rescue. I bought a sugar-free one, because you already know. And yes, that little can motivated me to drive on to the campsite.
I don’t think it was the caffeine, because I had many coffees. Just knowing I’d had that booster gave me the motivation I needed to drive smoothly, without even blinking once. That’s just what I told myself, right?
Often, we need a little push to get us through the struggle. A motivator to take our hand and say: Come on, just keep going, the end is around the corner.
Many times, we also need a motivator in our spiritual life. Something or someone who helps us to keep believing. Yes, the world steals our faith so easily.
Then we wonder if Jesus was really here and if His death on the cross is enough for us? Before we know it, our minds deceive us, leading us astray into doubt.
Do you know that God himself testifies about Jesus? God testifies through His Spirit, even through people, of the powerful work of Jesus. God testifies through Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection that Jesus is truly His Son.
God puts His stamp of approval on Jesus’ act of salvation on the cross and says that it is more than enough. What Jesus accomplished on the cross was enough to bear the guilt of the sins of all the people on earth.
God is our motivator. He helps us to keep believing. He helps us to stay awake and not allow our faith to be stolen. We must always hold on to this.
Those who do not understand and believe God’s testimony about Jesus are certainly in trouble. We’re responsible for living out what God tells us for those around us to see.
Let’s motivate others to believe. Let our lives testify, as God testifies, of Jesus who is our Saviour.

Do you motivate others?
